QuoteMedia provides fully customizable Watchlists of every shape and size. In fact, the options are pretty much limitless.
Use our Watchlists to display current updating data for Stocks, Indexes, ETFs and Mutual Funds, Currencies (Forex) and Rates. These extremely versatile tools can be scaled to the size and data you need, and are completely customizable.
QMod Watchlist and Editable Watchlist Components
It is up to you whether to display a fixed set of symbols in the Watchlist, or make it editable for your site visitors. With a non-editable version of the Watchlist, you can display a specific set of symbols, such as a variety of market indices, a currency watch list, or the most actively traded stocks for a given exchange.
For example, if you store the symbols for the holdings for the user, you could pass the symbols for the user into our Non-Editable Watchlist Component tool; or, if you want to feature a set of symbols/companies on your website, the Non-Editable Watchlist Component tool will do this for you.
Alternatively, if you want to allow users to enter in their own list of symbols, our QMod Editable Watchlist Component tool allows you to do just that. With the user Editable Watchlist Component tool, the symbols entered are stored in a cookie on the user’s pc.
QMod Watchlist Module (Integrated)
The QMod Watchlist Module is similar to the user Editable Watchlist tool in that it allows users to enter in their own list of symbols to watch. In this case, however, the QMod Watchlist Module is integrated with QuoteMedia’s Quotestream Watchlist service, meaning, the symbols that are entered are stored under the user record that would be created on QuoteMedia’s database.
If you wanted to control the symbols that are displayed in the QMod Watchlist Module instead of allowing users to enter in their own symbols, QuoteMedia provides UMS Watchlist json/rest calls that can be used to update the information under a user record (s).
There is also a parameter to show more columns in the display, if wanted.
QMod Portfolio Module
The QMod Portfolio Module tool is our basic portfolio product that acts like a Watchlist but allows users to enter in a summary/total of their holdings as well. Multiple Portfolios are available to users.
Similar to the QMod Watchlist Module tool, the symbols that are entered are stored under the user record that would be created on QuoteMedia’s database. If you wanted to control the symbols and summary data (total holdings for each symbol) that are displayed in the QMod Portfolio Module instead of allowing users to enter in their own symbols, QuoteMedia provides UMS Portfolio json/rest calls that can be used to update the information under a user record (s).
QMod Transactional Portfolio Module
The QMod Transactional Portfolio Module tool is our transactional portfolio product that allows users to enter their stock or fund transactions on an individual basis so as to maintain the transaction history for each user acts like a Watchlist but allows users to enter in a summary/total of their holdings as well. Multiple Transactional Portfolios are available to users to support each of their accounts.
Similar to the QMod Watchlist and Portfolio Module tools, the symbols that are entered are stored under the user record that would be created on QuoteMedia’s database. If you wanted to control the symbols and transactional data instead of allowing a user to update the data themselves, the UMS Portfolio Transactional service could be made available.
Customization
The QMod Component examples displayed here include only base css so that it is easier to customize to suit your website. For developers, QMod provides a library of premade components (aka widgets) to display market data. Each component UI template can be entirely customized for the end user, from markup to classes/styling, to entire restructuring of the template. Our goal with the QMod service is to provide you - the developer - with as much ability to customize our components to your site’s design and feel.
